How To Make An Amazing Smoothie
The first rule of smoothie club is that there are no rules! Ok, maybe a few rules (you definitely want to end up with something edible). But smoothies are so flexible.
If you’re completely new to smoothies, have fun trying different recipes to see what sort of blends you prefer. I’ve got 4 waiting for you today (just scroll on down gorgeous!)
But I also wanted to help you become a smoothie making pro too. So if you’re a smoothie newbie, here are a few tips…
Follow this general ingredient guideline:
- 2 cups of fruits and/or veggies to your blender (fresh or frozen)
- 1.5 to 2 cups of liquid (I usually go for almond or coconut milk)
- 1/2 cup of yogurt or nut butter (optional)
- 1 to 2 tsp of sweetener or to taste (I prefer maple syrup)
Toss everything into a blender and blend away.
Pro tips:
Place the harder to blend items in the blender first. For example, if you’re using frozen fruit or kale, you want that right by the blades so they don’t wind up chunky.
In fact, sometimes I break things up a little before I add any other ingredients. This is my go to move with frozen strawberries. They’re chunky delights, so I like to make sure they’re blended really well!
It’s ok to stop blending, stir and then keep going too. Sometimes things need a little help coming together.
Every smoothie is a little different. Have fun and make it yours!
Your smoothie can be as thick or as thin as you want.
More frozen produce and less liquid will give you a delicious smoothie bowl you can eat with a spoon! More liquid and less frozen fruits and veggies gives you a thinner smoothie you can sip on or even enjoy with a straw.
There’s even a super yummy healthy smoothie recipe trend called nice cream (it’s basically smoothie meets ice cream. Trust me, you want in on this!)
Let’s Start Blending
Here are 4 delicious smoothie recipes for you to try! Feeding yourself something yummy is a beautiful form of self-care. So have fun and enjoy every decadent minute. <3
1. Creamy Green Smoothie Goodness
One easy way to eat more greens is to toss them in your smoothie. This beautiful, green smoothie might be full of kale, but the banana and cinnamon really shine in the flavour department. It doesn’t taste as green as it looks.
Whether you’re a lean, mean, green eating machine or a bit hesitant about the veggie train, a green smoothie can totally work for you.
Creamy Green Smoothie Goodness

Ingredients

- 2 Generous Pinches Cinnamon
- 2 Tbsp Maple Syrup
Instructions

Blend and enjoy!
2. Creamy Strawberry Delight Smoothie
Canned coconut milk makes everything more awesome. And when you add it to a smoothie, you have one creamy, delicious glass of goodness. It gives it a milkshakey texture (which is why I love to use canned coconut milk to make nutritious milkshakes).
Throw strawberries into the mix, and it’s basically food heaven. I can’t wait for you to try this one:
