Hello Sweet Friends:
Sometimes a few positive messages are exactly what you need.
When you’re struggling, a gentle boost can truly make a difference.
And something we all struggle with from time to time is self-love and self-acceptance. It’s normal and totally ok to have a hard time loving and being kind to yourself.
And in those moments, you deserve extra understanding, kindness and inspiration.
So here are 6 uplifting positive messages about self-love to give you the boost you truly deserve. Let’s dive in…
1. Your Body Loves You
You know what’s really wonderful? You have trillions of cells in your body (including bacterial cells, which is so fascinating) that are 100% dedicated to and focused on you. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You’re their only focus.
Your entire body works tirelessly to keep you alive. It is always doing it’s best for you. Your body loves you.

2. It’s Normal To Feel Lost
It’s ok to feel lost and unsure of where you’re going in life. Life is an adventure, after all. And what kind of adventure would it be if you always knew exactly where you were going?
According to Alan D. Castel, Ph.D., a professor of cognitive psychology at the University of California:
“Being lost is part of a process for finding what is important to you.” (source)
In fact, Dr. Castel believes that being lost is ultimately helpful. It gives you the opportunity to learn more about yourself, your interests, your goals and how you relate to the world. And being lost helps you develop self-confidence. (source)
So know that being lost is normal. And that you’re still making amazing headway, even when you aren’t sure where you’re headed.
Just keep going. Keep moving forward. You’ll find your way as you go. And that’s ok! You’re doing great.
3. It’s OK To Struggle With Self-Love
When you love yourself you treat yourself with compassion and respect, you make choices that support your well-being and you work to create a balanced lifestyle that makes you feel awesome. Self-love is pretty wonderful.
But it isn’t simple. There’s no “self-love destination.”
Self-love is an ongoing journey that takes a lot of time, patience and, well, love. Like any relationship, your relationship with yourself has it’s ups and downs and that’s ok and totally normal. If you’re struggling, you are not alone.
The most important thing is that you make a choice to work on loving yourself. And that you continue to work on practicing self-love, even through the difficult times. You are just as worthy of your own love as everyone else in your life. Even in the moments when it’s a struggle.

4. You’re Worthy Just As You Are
Sometimes we decide we don’t deserve self-love until we’ve improved in some way. We imagine ourselves fitter, smarter, more successful… and we decide that that imaginary version of us is the one that deserves all the love and admiration. And then we strive to get there and be worthy.
But that couldn’t be any less true! You deserve to love yourself right now, as you are.
It doesn’t mean that you stop chasing your goals and dreams. Just that you work on recognizing that you’re already awesome and anything you do or accomplish is just awesome you creating even more awesome! You’re always worthy of love, no matter where you are in your journey.
There will never be a version of yourself that is without fault, no matter what goals you accomplish. In fact, there’s no version of anyone that’s without fault. But, faults and all, you’re still worthy of love.
Relieving yourself of the impossible pressures of perfection is an incredible act of self-kindness. The pressure of perfection have no place with you on your self-love journey.

5. Kindness Makes The World Brighter
Kindness in all forms makes the world a brighter place. That includes self-kindness too. So it’s wonderful to endeavour to spread kindness as thick as peanut butter.
Be kind to yourself. Because you are as worthy of love and kindness as everyone else and so deserving of your own.
Be kind to others. Kindness is powerful. It breeds empathy, understanding and connection.
But it goes beyond that too…
According to Dr. Marianna Pogosyan, a lecturer in Cultural Psychology:
“Kindness not only feels good but also does us good” (source)
There’s a reason we get that warm glow when we’re kind.
Here’s some of the goodness kindness does for us:
- Creates feelings of belonging
- Increases satisfaction
- Boosts mood and uplifts
- Expands trust
- Reduces feelings of anxiety
- Raises self-esteem
- Promotes longevity in seniors
Kindness can help to make us feel good whether we’re kind to a loved one or a stranger. And the benefits also exist when we’re kind to ourselves. So self-kindness sure does count, honey! Be kind to you too. (source)
There is no such thing as too much kindness. Plant those kind seeds and watch them grow.
6. You Are Incredibly Awesome
It’s so easy to get a case of comparison-itis and feel like you don’t measure up. It happens to all of us (myself included.) But comparison is truly the thief of joy and your superpower is that you’re the only you in the universe!
You’re basically like Tigger, that fact that you’re the only you is what makes you wonderful. (And if you now have the Tigger song in your head – you’re welcome or I’m sorry, depending on how long it stays stuck.)
If you work on anything for the sake of your health, I hope it’s self-love. Because you are so worthy of it sweet friend!
Final Thoughts
I hope that all of these positive messages serve as a powerful reminder for you to be kind and loving to yourself and those around you. Know that you are doing your best, your best is enough, and you are always worthy of patience, love, kindness and admiration. You’re doing great!
