Happy December! We are truly in a Winter Wonderland here in Atlantic Canada and the holiday count down has begun. My husband adores this time of year and loves to make our little nest as festive as possible. We are in the mists of decorating and, in usual health-esteem fashion, have a variety of bite sized, healthy snacks on hand! Bliss Balls are a family fave!

But Wait… Is Chocolate Even Good For You?
My husband and I are both serious (dairy free) chocolate addicts. But any Health-Esteem Queen worth their salt knows that chocolate has so much goodness to offer. How can you say no to fiber, iron, vitamin C, antioxidants and mood elevation? I’m in awe of cacao and I eat it regularly (and gleefully)!
But Why Stop at Chocolate Goodness?
Less isn’t always more after all! I want my bite sized goodies to be packed with as much health supporting awesomeness as possible. Throw in some fruity sweetness and a little crunch while we’re at it and I’ll be in heaven. Sounds like I’m asking for an awful lot! But we made it happen with Crispy Peanut Butter Chocolate Bliss Balls!

Their Crispy Rice cereal added the crunch I was craving in these Crispy Peanut Butter Chocolate Bliss Balls.
Patience Fruit & Co’s delicious Whole Berry snacks are a recent discovery, and I am completely enamoured! Hailing from Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, Quebec, Patience Fruit and Co. believes that doing things right means taking your time (ie being present and patient).
They are involved in the entire process when it comes to creating their delicious snacks, from farming to processing. Trust me, you’ll taste the difference! Their Dried Whole & Soft Cranberries, Wild Blueberries, Goldenberries & Tart Cherries mix added the extra oomph this recipe needed!
Crispy Peanut Butter Chocolate Bliss Balls are super easy to make and they’re practically exploding with healthy goodness.
Don’t just take my word for it, give them a try and I know you’ll be licking your plate and coming back for more.
Crispy Peanut Butter Chocolate Bliss Balls
This recipe is Dairy Free, Gluten Free and Vegan. Yields approximately 30 bite sized balls.
1 Cup Crunchy Peanut Butter (Almond Butter would work too)
¾ Cup Cacao Powder
¼ Cup Coconut Oil
½ Cup Maple Syrup
¼ Cup Pumpkin Seeds
¼ Cup Cacao Nibs
Mince the Patience Fruit & Co dried berries.
Melt the peanut butter and coconut oil in a sauce pan, over medium heat.
Add the maple syrup and cacao powder and stir until well mixed.
Remove from heat and add the remaining ingredients.
Again, stir until well mix and let cool.
Once the mixture has cooled, roll into bite sized balls.
I dare you to try not to inhale them all in one sitting! Enjoy.
