I’m sure most of us would agree that sweet potato fries are the bomb diggity. I mean, the lovely potato is still pretty nice and all, but sweet potatoes are like their cool cousin that we all wish we met earlier. Or is that just me?
Once I discovered sweet potatoes, I was all about it. They make a common appearance on my plate. But I had never thought about them as a dessert food until sweet potato toast all but took over Instagram. All those shots of sweet potato slices covered in peanut butter had my creativity wheels spinning… What if I made chocolate coconut milk whipped cream and peanut butter sauce covered sweet potato fries?
Well, I don’t have to ask that question anymore. Because it happened and it was awesome!

There are few desserts that are as summery and marvelous as strawberry shortcake (or is that just me?) Honestly, when I close my eyes and think back to my childhood summers, I’m right back at my parents’ kitchen table… liking the bowl (I’ve always been a classy girl). Chocolate covered banana pops are my current dessert obsession. I have a serious love affair going on with bananas. They make a daily appearance in my diet… and if I’m out all day, you can bet your bottom dollar that I have a banana or two with me. I’ve got a healthy sweet tooth to satisfy after all!

I have no idea what I’ve been waiting for. It turns out that donuts are pretty easy to throw together. It took me a couple of tries, but I came up with a donut recipe I may be a little obsessed with (healthy donuts 3 times this week isn’t a bad thing, right?) Super bonus? They cook in 10 minutes! Say what?! This is seriously an exciting development in the Health-Esteemie House. I can’t wait until you try them.
Nothing goes hand in hand with winter quite like Hot Chocolate. When the winter chill has weaseled it’s way into your core, a nice, steaming cup of hot chocolate does wonders to loosen it’s grips. My husband LOVES it… I think many of those living in a winter wonderland are hot chocolate fans. Unfortunately, I am the odd man out. I’m not a fan of hot drinks… and so, I often enjoy my ‘hot’ chocolate cold. Thank goodness for freezers. But, hot or cold, the flavour is always marvelous. If we had to give this time of year a new name, I think ‘Pumpkin Time’ would be apt! I have been gathering pumpkins left, right and centre since they first appeared at the farmers market. My idea of heaven is chocolate and peanut butter. They were made for each other and I was made to adore them! So I decided to christen my new tart pans by honouring my love of peanut butter and chocolate and creating giant chocolate peanut butter cups (best idea ever!)
