Vegan Chocolate Covered Banana Pops (Only 4 Ingredients)

Share The Love!

Hello Lovelies:

Chocolate covered banana pops are my current dessert obsession. I have a serious love affair going on with bananas. They make a daily appearance in my diet… and if I’m out all day, you can bet your bottom dollar that I have a banana or two with me. I’ve got a healthy sweet tooth to satisfy after all!

And can you really blame me? Bananas are loaded with tons of marvelous nutrients like vitamin B6, manganese, vitamin C, potassium, fiber, copper and biotin. And your gut gets some goodness too; the probiotics in bananas help to keep your gut microbiome healthy and happy.

Super bonus – they also help to support your beautiful heart, thanks to lovely potassium. Potassium helps to keep your blood pressure regulated and might even protect you from atherosclerosis (the hardening and narrowing of your arteries). Booyah!

While these gorgeous fruits are pretty fantastical all on their own, I certainly don’t see anything wrong with amping up the awesomeness by dipping them in homemade chocolate! What do you think? Wanna treat yourself to some banana pops too?

Ready to cool off and spoil your sweet tooth in a healthy way? Give these Chocolate Covered Banana Pops a try:

It’s amazing what you can do with a few simple ingredients!

Banana pops are super simple to make. You only need 4 ingredients! And you can sprinkle them with crushed almonds or chia seeds if you’d like. But they shine marvelously all on their own too.

I love that these banana pops come together so easily… sometimes I don’t want to work too hard for my dessert. And I imagine you and I share that desire. Quick, easy, healthy dessert is basically the bomb in my books.

You will need to give your bananas an hour or two to freeze before you can get going, but the good news is that the freezer will do all the heavy lifting. Otherwise, everything will come together in 10 to 20 minutes. So let’s get the ball rolling!

Ingredients

  • 4 Bananas
  • 1/2 Cup Coconut Oil
  • 1/4 Cup Raw Cacao Powder
  • 2 Tbsps Maple Syrup Or to taste
  • 8 Popsicle Sticks

Optional

  • Chia Seeds
  • Crushed Almonds

Instructions

  1. Slice your bananas in half (through the midsection)

  2. Insert a Popsicle stick into each banana slice. Place on a wax paper or parchment lined baking sheet and freeze until firm (1 to 2 hours)

For the Chocolate Sauce

  1. If your coconut oil is solid, melt under low heat. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly (but do not let it sit long enough to solidify).

  2. Mix in the cacao powder and maple syrup until well blended.

  3. Dip each banana piece in the chocolate. The chocolate should set quickly. You can dip multiple times (I recommend 2 to 3 layers) so you have a thick chocolate coating.

  4. Optional - When you've reached your last layer of chocolate, sprinkle with chia seeds or almonds before the chocolate sets.

  5. Enjoy right away or freeze until you're ready to serve.
