Healthy eating marvelous – I mean, who doesn’t want a diet that supports their well-being and makes them feel awesome? But it can be really difficult to create a lasting and fulfilling healthy diet. If you’re struggling to make a healthy diet work for you, here are 6 Reasons why your healthy diet might not be working and how to fix it.
A couple of weeks ago, we talked about some awesome additions you can add to your self-care routine. A hot bath with a good book is one of my personal favourite self care activities. It’s such a good way to relax and unwind. I try to make time for it a few times a week. But I also like to make sure that I don’t dry out my skin in the process. Definitely an unwanted hot bath side effect… Which is why I love to make my own oil bath melts.
You can totally enjoy a nice, hot bath on the regular and still keep your skin healthy, soft and nourished too! Let me show you how to make these marvelous White Chocolate and Coconut Oil Bath Melts that can help you do just that.
When I was little, one of my favourite chores was polishing the furniture. Put in a little elbow grease and all of the tables and shelves looked fabulous! Plus, the smell of lemons was to die for. These days I still enjoy making my bookshelves shine (my books are kind of my most prized possessions). But I prefer to avoid the conventional stuff and opt for a homemade furniture polish.
Why would I make my own? For one, it’s super easy and works wonders! But I’m also concerned about my husbands asthma and my skin. That lemon smell I liked so much happens to be artificial… and fragrances do not blend well with asthma (and really aren’t good for any of us – I’m a fan of knowing what I’m inhaling). My skin has no issue telling me what it likes and dislikes either, and certain cleaners leave me with an icky rash, polish included. So I like to keep it healthy and simple! Which is why I love making this 3 ingredient homemade furniture polish. And now you can too!
Confession time – I have never liked the taste of coffee, but I have ALWAYS loved the smell. I sneak through the coffee aisle for a moment of aroma therapy whenever I have the chance. While I don’t keep coffee on hand to drink, I do keep it on hand for homemade self-care products. This grounded coffee scrub is a personal fave. With only 3 ingredients, it’s incredibly easy to make. Your nose and your skin will thank you.
I used to horde a massive supply of perfumes, makeup, body scrubs and other junky products. When I started my journey on the road to health-esteem I purged my beauty supplies and set out to find ways to develop a healthy beauty routine. Luckily there are lots of awesome options out there! If you peek around you can find wonderful clays, essential oils, amazing deodorants… but sometimes you’ll still need to get creative.
