Are you as obsessed with ice cream as I am? I’m going to go ahead and bet on yes! That stuff is so well loved it probably has it’s own fan club. Which is why, when I first stepped into the healthy foodie world, I was determined to find healthy, homemade ice cream recipes. Seriously, who wants to live without it? The internet provided… but I was super bummed by how complicated it all seemed. Until I discovered banana ice cream (sometimes lovingly called nice cream <3).
Banana ice cream is a must try! It’s incredibly quick and simple to make, super delicious and totally adaptable! This strawberry banana ice cream is a family favourite. Hubby and I can’t get enough. I bet you’ll love it too!

I’m a delighted to have the opportunity to share an interview with Jo Harper, the kind, beautiful soul behind Jo’s Food Bites. Scrolling through her wholesome, healthy, homemade meals always leaves me feeling inspired (and hungry).
This lovely lady believes in simple, nutrient dense meals and has a less is more philosophy. Her journey with breast cancer further inspired her to treat her body well and feed it with kindness. And her enthusiasm is marvelously contagious!
Her journey to health-esteem will leave you feeling inspired to embrace who you are and treat your body with the utmost kindness.

This time five years ago I was trying to absorb the fact that I have Graves Disease, an incurable, but thankfully treatable, autoimmune disease.
Like many diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, my life drastically changed after my diagnosis. Initially I was devastated and angry. But five years later I can honestly say that Graves Disease has changed my life for the better.
Really, I changed myself for the better. But knowing I would be spending a lifetime with Graves Disease truly motivated me to examine my life and foster changes that would allow me to thrive in my circumstances. And there are so many ways that you can too! Even if you don’t have a chronic illness.
Don’t wait for a disease to make yourself a priority. Let’s talk about how to truly make yourself feel fantastic, inside and out.
The sun is shining, the grass is green, Monday has found us and so has your weekly inspiration board! Start the week of right with a little inspirational goodness in the form of quotes, self-care, recipes, and a little aromatherapy. You deserve it.

Recently I had a revelation of sorts. I need to slow down when I’m cooking and start paying attention. Not because I’m on crazy hyperspeed, but because I’m always winging it… which makes it near impossible to share my dishes! This awesome, Sweet and Sour Miso Veggie Stir Fry is the first product of my new vow to cook more mindfully. Aren’t you proud?
I mean, seriously… there’s a severe lack of main dishes in the Health-Esteem recipe house! And you can give thanks to mindless improvisation. Which is totally fun, and I plan to continue to do… just not 100% of the time (since I love to share with you!)
So I finally slowed things down, grabbed my measuring cups and took notes! Booyah!
Get your cutting board ready and prepare for a delicious, filling, and delightfully sweet and sour stir fry. I know you’ll love it!
